When Claymation Schools You on Life

Isn’t it humbling to receive advice in the unlikeliest of places – from the unlikeliest of clay figurines? Yes, you read that right. My most enlightening moment as of late came from General Ticker, a toy soldier character in Rudolph’s Shiny New Year that sports a clock for a chest. 

It was New Year’s Eve, and I was wrapping up a festive month of introducing my two-year-old (Teeny Deanie) to all the holiday classics. When they weren’t breaking out into truly terrible song numbers, Ticker and Rudolph were on the hunt to find Happy, the baby New Year.

I was tuning out as best I could, with my official New Year’s Eve countdown being when I could put the baby down, turn off this asinine program and have a glass of bubbly. Then, through all the ire, Ticker drops this little advice bomb before continuing on his asinine way:
